Since June 2011, the first time spoke at the Mother Earth News Fair in Puyallup, Washington, I have been spending more of my time traveling and talking about our farm, off-grid life, heritage poultry, and other subjects relating to homesteading. In addition to the Mother Earth News Fair, which now happens four times each year around the country, I have also done presentations and talks at public libraries, bookstores, club meetings and other venues both local and out of state.
I have several one-hour PowerPoint presentations prepared, on the following subjects:
Basics of raising ducks
Basics of raising turkeys
Liquor distillation and the liquor licensing process
I am often asked to talk about how I went from living in Seattle to completely off the grid, and about the process of writing Pure Poultry and getting it published. I am quite comfortable with spontaneous Q & A talks, and really enjoy interacting with small and large audiences.
Please use the contact form to let me know if you would like me to speak to your group or at your event. Depending on the details, I may request a fee and/or reimbursement of travel expenses, if applicable. For out-of-state events, naturally the more notice you can give me, the better. I will do my best to accommodate all requests for speaking.
